Maria Gentile’s journey began in Jonadi, an ancient village
embedded among the hills of Calabria.
From a very young age, she was trained in a home workshop where her mother, a seamstress,
held classes for young apprentices eager to learn the craft.
In fact, Maria’s earliest experiences took place right in her own home,
dedicated to mastering the art of tailoring through manual work
and the ancient Singer sewing machine.
Barely a teenager, she began her professional path in a textile factory, as a specialized machinist,
and for the next ten years she developed her skills in management and industrial production.
Later, in 1994, she relocated to Milan, where she took her first steps into the television industry as a wardrobe mistress.
In the following years, she entered the film industry as an assistant stylist, before also working in fashion and photography, constantly expanding her expertise. Throughout this period, alternating between roles and projects, she frequently took on the roles of stylist and art director for events and photographic productions.
Today, after years of personal and professional growth, Maria Gentile brings to life a brand that unites the experiences, places, and encounters that have shaped her path.
Her travels, her observation of landscapes, and her constant dialogue with artists, artisans, and creative professionals have contributed to building a signature authorial imprint
and a keen eye for the languages of creativity and craftsmanship. Thus, Maria Gentile is born, a project that gathers and connects different people, skills, and sensibilities, giving shape to a constantly evolving story.
